Presenting to you, Hotel Reservations!
To start off, the website has an Alexa ranking of #21,948. Yeah, top #50,000 in the whole world. HotelReservations.com has also been in this business for more than 6 years running, so you can be assured of expert planning and booking for your travel needs. With these explained, customers need not worry about getting cheated of their money because HotelReservations.com is a legitimate company. Kindly thoroughly browse through their website should you have any doubts.
Navigating through their pages was a breeze. Everything was laid out nicely; Numbered/Procedured steps. It’s dummy-proof, really. HotelReservations.com even allows you to book for not only hotels, but flights and car rentals as well through the use of their well-integrated system. From my experience of browsing through the website, I think you can travel to almost any known locations in the world! What you want, they SHOULD have it.
Like any other company, HotelReservations.com provides great deals and savers on their travel packages. I did a comparison with Singapore Airlines booking price, and here’s what I found:
Notice carefully those circled in red. For this comparison, I chose 2 adult tickets, leaving on the 23rd Aug and returning back on the 30th Aug. Yeah, I opted for a SIN-KL and KL-SIN route so that it’s easier to relate to our Asian customers.
SIA website quoted me SGD$616 just for the air tickets alone. Okay, so it sounds reasonable. Now look here. The cheapest package going on HotelReservations.com for this particular destination is USD$541, which translates to SGD$811.50 if you consider a 1.5 multiplier. Mind you, the extra $811.50 – $616 = SGD$195.50 is justified by the ONE WEEK hotel booking at the Concorde Hotel Shah Alam. Let’s be honest, can you get that kind of price anywhere?
Okay, so you say that Concorde’s location is way off, and you may want a hotel right smack in the KL city district. Let’s go for the next cheaper deal i.e. USD$741, which is SGD$1111.50 which lets you stay in Millennium Hotel for a period of one week. Sounds expensive eh? Read on.
Let’s assume the air fare costs SGD$616. Therefore, hotel charges would be $1111.50 – $616 = SGD$495.50 for a week. Per night accommodation would cost about SGD$82.50, for a city district hotel. I don’t know, but to my experience, SGD$82.50 is the price when you stay in a service apartment at Sucasa’s. WAIT I’m wrong… I visited their website, and they quoted MYR$295 per night, i.e SGD$128.30 per night if you use a x2.3 multiplier. So, HotelReservations.com’s package is easier on the pocket!
All these Math is getting confusing. Basically, with HotelReservations.com you get to book your flight with them, your hotel, and if you decide to, even your car rental with them. You can even buy additional upgrades/tours to their packages. But of course, one might say that it is unfair for me to make comparisons with SIA, because their flights are world class where else for HotelReservations.com, you don’t have your pick over which airline to fly with.
Well, it is ULTIMATELY up to you. But for students like me, we go budget all the time. I mean if you can consider taking a budget airline like Tiger Airways or Air Asia (where there’s no service at all), why not consider taking a major airline? Plus I don’t think there are any budget airlines that accommodate a SIN-KL or KL-SIN trip. It’ll just kill off their major airlines’ businesses.
I highly recommend HotelReservations.com, with respect to the information that I have gathered. You are however, encouraged to dabble with their booking system to convince yourself that such great offers are not only available for this package trip alone, but also to other great destinations as well. All the best in your future holidays!
