IBackup is a company offering an online solution for your ultimate storage and backup needs. From what I've seen at their website, they are geared towards targetting business savvy consumers , company profiles and government bodies.
The architecture they use is similar to a shared drive on an intranet infrastructure. What does this mean? Well, basically under your 'My Computers', you have an additional mapped network drive that you will be able to spot. This mapped network drive is linked to IBackup's servers, therefore data is transferred on-the-fly. Users can simply drag-and-drop their files into this network drive, and the files will automatically be stored over at IBackup's.
Added functionalities such as multi-sharing of files and folders for collaborative access, directory and file caching (for faster access) and 128-bit SSL encryptiong technology are just a few of the useful tools available.
In my opinion, the best provided tool by IBackup is their 'file transfer resumption on temporary disconnections' feature. I'm sure all of us have experienced a scenario of disconnection in the midst of uploading/downloading data. Well, you never have to curse at anyone or ever need to bang the table or throw stuffs anymore. This is one excellet feature that I've never come across before. IBackup technology is up to date and compatible with Windows and Mac, and also latest platform technologies like Vista.
7To use this service, users have to register for an account at their webpage. However, there is one catch. Users need to have a credit/debit card for use in registration. It's true that there's a 15-days trial period, however when that ends, users will be billed appropriately.
So if you're thinking of test-driving the system, do not forget to unsubscribe before the trial period ends! Like I said, if you're a business-savvy person who's always on the move (and I mean doing frequent travellings) or say you're a company looking for a useful online storage and backup system, please consider IBackup.
