Ever been to a birthday party before? A friend's, probably? How did you find it? I'm sure most of us has had a birthday party before (Those who didn't, my apologies).
When I was younger, the part I enjoyed the most was when the cake's being brought out, and everyone starts singing and clapping along to the birthday song.
Great memories man…Okay actually I lied. Heheh..I actually like the tearing up of presents part! So if anyone wants to give me a birthday present, please wrap it up okay? I like tearing things up!
Speaking of birthdays, I went to my friend's birthday party 2 days back at her house (Yes her house veli big). It was her 21st birthday, so yeah…the very significant number 21, or some people might call the true, legal age (when you're no more bounded by RA21 ratings). For the record, 18 isn't a milestone age! Being 18 does make you legal, but it's kinda grey there (so maybe you're legal to pursue a driving license, but you still cannot get progress package right?!). You're not truly legal until you're an adult! Yeah, in legal Singaporean context, call yourself an adult only when you you've reached 21.
I recognise 21 as being one of the milestone ages, apart from the time of birth and in the future, time of death. But heck, 16?!? And being sweet 16 is all the rave in the USA. Man, those kids in 'My Sweet Sixteen' are so damn spoilt BUT lucky man. But I wonder, why do all 16th birthdays on that show have to be girls? Don't guys celebrate too?!? Not fair sia!
My 21st birthday was plain old jane. Maybe I didn't see the need to do one, but I now realise the importance: for memoirs. I guess my next party will be when I'm 30. And subsequently, in decades thereafter. Hopefully.
