Okay so I was exhilirated when Nuffnang booked ads on my site (as per my previous post): 2 ads, each running a period of a week.
But now I am so pissed. I checked the earnings for one of the ads that ran for one week. It amounted to SGD$1.40. What $1.40?!?! FOR ONE WEEK? YES one point four zero dollars. Outrageous.
SURE IT'S MONEY, BUT I COULD GET $2 BY JUST BEGGING ON THE STREETS.
Nuffnang should STOP assuming that bloggers will be willing to accept any advertisement offers. They should consider a system whereby the PRICE of the campaign is stated, so that we bloggers can decide whether to waste our space and bandwidth for those advertisements.
Right now, I'm guessing that the second ad that ran on my blog for a period of one week would prolly earn me another $1.40. Heck, that's $2.80 for 2 weeks of running ads. It's really pathetic lah, seriously.
Argh I feel pissed off just by thinking of the pathetic amount. I seriously think the amount should increase lah, at least make it worthy, say $3. And then do AWAY with the minimum withdraw amount of $50. Blardy hell, at this rate, how the hell am I gonna reach and cash out $50 sia. It's not like Nuffnang gets ad offers oh so often anyway, now that they have bad publicity already, it's gonna get worse. At least let bloggers cash out that pathetic $1.40 through paypal lah.
Blardy hell, Nuffnang you better consider my suggestions seriously to appease the bloggers out there, because the way I see it, they're the only way you're gonna get any business.

1if i recall, (i might be wrong too) nuffnang ads are cost per impression. what you earn, depends on your traffic.
more impressions, more earnings.
if nuffnang doesnt rock your boat, try cost per action networks like amazon and others.
heres to good earnings!

2hey bro, I was pissed too when I got paid $1.40/week.
That’s like 20-freaking-cents-a-day, not even enough to pay for the electricity my laptop uses during the week =S

3if you have 100 blogs and each blog earn $1.4
do the math 100×1.4=_______
you must always try and think to ‘beat’ the system

4hey there, nuffnang’s ad payout is based by your previous week’s unique visitors.
for us, it’s $1.40 a week.
but for people like Kenny Sia, i could be $5 or more a week.
in short, more viewers = more money… =)
so take it easy, perhaps you could focus more on PPP or in text ads.

6Okay so Nuffnang gauges your unique visitors in determining the payout rate. I don’t think it’s cost per impression ah. But yeah like what Sha said, I agree that the only way to increase earnings is by expanding and expanding early!
Whoa you guys power dey…I auto-posted this at 130am, and malique and LLY’s still awake! And Sha, whatcha doing up so early sia, mugging ah? :D Xinyun eh, at work?

11DK: I lost track. My wordpress.com stats punk’d me and i just started afresh with google analytics.
I checked at Nuffnang stats and it stated average 53 uniques per day. Maybe that’s why my earnings are pathetic, because my traffic is pathetic! LOL

12I make US$2.20 per 1,000 ad impressions on average with Google Adsense. Perhaps you can use this as a basis for comparison.

13Hmm. I get an average of 100 per day for last week and I got $2.80. Sad..but it guess its proportional..lol..i’m fuming too..when will i reach $50? Perhaps in 15 years time.

14Actually $1.40 a week for that ad is quite a lot. Lets see, a day would mean $0.20 With that amount of money, you can buy over 1000 impressions on a decent site.

15Try ways to increase the number of unique visitors ur site has. It might help. But then again… it also depends…
If you’re not happy with what you’re getting, there’s always the option of switching.

16the one and only nike ad i had earned me $6.10 per week actually. Although I’m still wondering how come I NEVER receive any more ads after that, seeing that my unique visitors add up to around 170 – 250 daily still. Pelik bin ajaib.

17if your blog is all about earning money.then yes u have a reason to complain..
but yeah, the pay outs from the ads are pathetic i would say . even adverlets pay peanuts..

18pathetic visitorship = pathetic earnings. like claud mentioned, try to increase your readership, it’ll pay off in the end.

19Chey Faddy, not bad! So now it’s confirmed that Nuffnang pays via CPI&CPC during the “online” ad period. Advertlets on the other hand, is extended to all time.
I’d say Advertlets is a more potential moneymaker. Maybe the reason why we think its peanuts, is because we suckers have too little blogs and readership.
If only both Nuffnang and Advertlets can pay via Paypal, then at least i can use my $1.40 to buy ice cream…

20rather a waste of time to me too. people bother to update regularly so that visitorship wont drop and they give us a pea amount. mine’s slightly better -.- $1.68 but still pathetic. how much longer would i have to wait before i can cash out. donkey monkey years maybe? most people like us wont be able to cash out so soon. and if we decide not to cont with the ads anymore. they’re prolly getting free advertisment chances. and, nuffnang- earning $. surely there’s alot of people like this. they get a small amount and end up giving up on the whole thing.

21The reason we chose Nuffnang is because the name sounded quite funky. Cheers.

My nuffnang is like that. Advertlets still yet to pay me since I cashed out a YEAR ago. BAD PR ADVERTLETS!
Not really focused on earning from blogs. I think a better strategy would be to create useful and good content. IMO, a good website is better than a blog.

24Hey yes I agree on the peanuts nuffnang ads pay, but after all it is still money and by just putting that banner on an almost-unknown site and earn $$ is already a great deal by itself.
I have 80 readers per day Now on my 3-weeks-old blog. From the last 2 weeks, I had $3.20. I guess it’s pathetic but better than nothing.
Probably if i have 8000readers per day, then i will have $320 per week. Haha!
Cheers,
Isaac
