There are so many web hosting plans available now, each with different server specifications, different price plans, varying customer feedbacks.
You might be asking yourself, “Argh I’m spoilt for choices. Which one do I choose then? I can’t make up my mind!”
I’ll lay down my own terms and conditions when looking for a host:
1. Excellent service and customer feedback is the biggest priority for me. I don’t want to pay for something and get shit service. So this is where I’ll do my research and scour the internet for any clues.
2. Compare price and specification plans with other host providers. This will depend on your own needs and requirements, so choose wisely.
3. Professional-looking website and advertising banners. Maybe I’m being skeptical? I don’t want to get pwned by cheap-looking sites. Sorry, it’s just me.
You can find more tips on how to source for cheap, reliable web hosting plans in online forums, or just by asking around.
The link I provided you above, which I happened to find while randomly browsing, provides a comprehensive study on cheap web hosting plans and gives you tips on how to choose the suitable one for yourself.
You must ask yourself:
Do I need this for personal use? If so, maybe I need minimal specs, so I’d go for one that provides most value for money.
Or would I need it for business purposes? Well, then I think I’d have to sacrifice price for server specifications.
The website also provides useful material in teaching oneself on the issues of web hosting security. Apart from explaining security issues e.g. htaccess, it contains tutorials on ways to encrypt your website.
Enough talking for me, now get moving!
p.s: If you’re interested to know what I’m using, try skynethosting. They were recommended to me through Firdooze, and I’m very much delighted with their service so far!
